The Destination Glenorchy
Mt. Alfred Challenge

29th March 2008

'The most scenic Mountain Bike Race in the World'

Last Years Winner – Karl Boomsma

Good Bastard Productions™ are back with a new and improved Mt. Alfred Challenge for 2008. We are excited to again be hosting this years event at the Paradise Trust.

The Paradise Trust was established by the late David Miller in 1998 to preserve Paradise for everyone to visit, in perpetuity. The Paradise Trust is committed to preserving and enhancing the unique features of Paradise for the enjoyment of all visitors, especially people with disabilities and children. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to start, finish, and hang out in such a great spot. We will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Paradise Trust. See below for entry details.

Course:
30km to 35km Mountain Bike Race

Machine – For those prepared to suffer, in fact looking forward to it. (Gordy’s mates) 35km.

Entry Fee:
$50
Weather:
This is an all weather event, If you were there last year, you will know the event will take place Rain or Shine, Sleet or Snow. Although according to Gordy, “the ol’ Hedgehog in the garden has a pretty thin coat this summer, so we should be sweet as” Optimists should bring sunblock……and a parka.

How to Enter
Click HERE to go to the entry form page then, Print it, Fill it out, and post it with a check to PO BOX 76 Glenorchy.
Don’t wait, entries are limited.

The Course
We have once again secured exclusive access to one of the most varied and scenic courses you will ever push a pedal over. Permission to ride on the course is for race day only. Don’t Blow it!

The Start/Finish will be based in Paradise, 20km past Glenorchy. After a twist at the start of the race, the course will circumnavigate Mt. Alfred similar (but not quite the same) as last year.

One major improvement this year will be good shelter at race base, a welcome relief for those of you that huddled behind a van to escape the freezing sideways rain last year.
